Slightly O/T Ford FE related Block !!

guys I know alot of you before going to the BIG Fords, Ran 390,406,427's and 428's....

I need a block with the HD webbing in the crank saddle that will take at least a 4.110" bore or better and still have enough wall left for cooling for occational street use..

I know this isnt a big task for you guys...But I have been looking for 3 years and with 3 bad blocks, I'am about at my wits end... I need more steam for my 70 F250 tow rig...and want to do a stroker motor with the Grandson...as a project for him, He's in his 10th year in school and thinks money grow on tree's..He'll be staying the summer with me and the wife..

So i hoping to get the short block done and just have to do the top end and drop the motor in Ol Blue..and make a couple runs with him at the closest 1/8th mile track here in VA....

I dont need one made from Gold...just one, that with some good machining that will not blow the bottom end out as I plan to have it crossbolted anyway...

send me info of whatcha got laying around and price please..and pics IF possible...

Thanks guys!!

If I recall correctly the block casting number C6ME-A is what you'll need.

Well Guys , thanks for putting me onto some PH#'s, I'll give them calls next week and see whats to be had?

and the reason for not going the 460 route at this time, I have a few collected parts for the FE motor, I have collected over the years and will save a few bucks here and there..

I just found out about this at 10pm eastern time when the Grandkid called from SoCal, and asked if he could stay the summer...At first he wanted to build a SBC...lol..and I told him Grandpa's tools didnt fit GM products...Of course he being 16 knew better than that...

So then he had asked what motor my Old blue Truck had in it..and I told him an FE ford.. So I figure it this way "IF" he loses interest, I'll have a spare for the truck, and IF he doesnt...Then this time next year we'll be looking for a body for the motor..lol

So as of right now..I'am just trying to run down a good block to take a decent bore, and then I'll have a buddy of mine do the machine work for crossbolting it, and we'll have a solid foundation...

But this is true, I could build 2 460's for what it cost to do 1 FE right...My son's a Mopar freak, and my grandson thinks there ugly!! lol...But I'am trying to steer him away.... He learned to drive in my old truck about 4 years back, and I think? he thinks that....thats all the faster the FE motor will go....So I know when he gets here in Southwestern,VA..a trip to the track to watch some Nostalia Racing will be in order! Some cars that were built before his Dad was a twinkle in my eye!! LOL..

I appreciate all the help guys!!

I agree, Rick is DA' MAN! He loaned me a tap and some tools to install screw in block plugs on a 427 I used to own. I still owe him a steak dinner 8)
