WTB A Daily Driver.

Looking for a car that gets 25+mpg the higher the better and automatic.

Maybe a 00 Ford Tauras with 120,000 miles, or even a station wagon version.

Honda or Toyota car?? Looking to stay $2,000 and bellow. I'm located in Mississippi so it doesn't need to be more than 9hrs away. It can have a salvaged title as long as it wasn't a flood or in a major impact.

Thanks

Those are hard to find. I have a friend that repairs old VW and Mercedes diesels. He has one Rabbit that has over 350,000 miles and a Mercedes that has over 500,000 miles. But they are long in the tooth and more than the engine needs repair. They are some of those cars you hear people driving it to the wheels fall off literality. Another good one is a Isuzu Pup diesel.

My next daily driver will most likely be a plastic (pre 03) Saturn. The girlfriend has one and they are ridiculously easy to work on. That and she gets 29 MPG all city, with an auto.

Don't overlook an old Crown Victoria. The aero Vics 92-97, can easily get high 20's MPG's and are very reliable. Just another direction for you. The 98+ (whale vics) are a little less aerodynamic, but will still get 20+ MPG's, like my 99 gettting 22-23 every week. 8)

I've consitantly gotten 25+mpg in my 1990 Lincoln Towncar. Same body style from 90-97, but the 90 was the only year with the 5.0L. The rest were 4.6, and got similar mileage. I've got about 240,000 on mine now.

Look at late 90's early 00's Escorts. I had an 02, repaired wreck. Gave 2k for it, got 37+ mpg. Great little car. I wish I had kept it now. Would have made an AWESOME tube chassis car.

1990 GT, 347 / 76mm turbo setup OUT AND GONE!

New setup going in. Dove headed 545 with a plate kit to 400, progressive, Th400 etc. etc. etc.

Cheap Car

Bingo on the lincoln you can pick up a 97-99 contintal for around 2k lots of comfort and thier original price tag was roughly 50k.

By the way if any one out there want to change out the air ride system
Arnottindustries.com makes a complete set up for just over $500.00 .

Just last summer I passed up a sweet deal on a Mark VIII the only problem was it had a slow leak some where in the suspension. I'd like to find another one of those if I could. Wish I bought it but I had race cars on my mind back then.
