1963 1/2 Galaxie 500XL w/ 514 Crate

1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500XL fastback with 63,007 original miles (documented).
Car originally had a 352FE big block.
Now has a 514 cubic inch, 600 horsepower big block Ford Motorsport Crate engine.
Barry Grant 850 Speed Demon carb (changed to standard 4150 flange because a dominator is not very street friendly).
THIS IS A STREET CAR THAT RUNS GREAT ON 93 OCTANE PUMP GAS...HAVE ALMOST 1,000 MILES ON THIS DRIVETRAIN AND IT EVEN GETS 6 MPG!! DRIVE ANYWHERE.
Aeromotive fuel pump.
3" h-pipe into 4" ceramic coated Flowmasters so it basically sounds like a Pro Stock car at idle.
MSD Digital 6 Plus ignition.
C6 with reverse manual valve body, Art Carr 3800 stall converter, trans brake and hardened 300M input shaft.
Griffin aluminum radiator with Lincoln Mark VIII fan (I have had it in 93 degree weather in traffic and it rides at 185 degrees all day long).
9" with stock 3.00 gears and posi trac (posi works and have marks in my driveway to prove it)
I built a 4" cowl induction hood with a parts car hood that still needs a little work but looks cool. Original showroom condition hood included.
New ($1000 worth) Wheel Vintique Cragar style wheels with new 215/70/15 front and 255/60/15 rear BFG Radial T/As. Original wheels/spoke hubcaps included along with original fender skirts.
The car is the factory color, Black Cherry and has the original interior that is in nice shape but does need a headliner ($300 installed).
It was painted once in its life on outside surfaces only, inside door jambs, trunk, underhood, etc. is factory original. Underneath the car could look showroom new with a couple days of detailing, I just haven't had time.
Car rides like a Cadillac and flat out gets after it for weighing over 4,000 lbs. Pics and a short video are on photobucket at:

$17,000 (ended up getting offered $17k but turned it down, need enough for an 03 Cobra)

Thanks. Its a really fun car and kind of nice to be able to run out in the garage and fire it up to cruise around the block. The neighbors don't even mind the noise since its a classic. Its hard to believe the condition of the car at 46 years old. They don't build them like this anymore but I want something a little more daily driver friendly.

Thanks 69fb. If it does sell I'm not sure what I will end up with. I am sure you are going to enjoy that 99 just as much. I have yet to find another one that clean with really nice road race equipment.

I have driven it to work a few more times and plan on driving it tomorrow since the weather is nice right now. It has close to 63,100 miles on it now

Still got it

Still got it. Tried ebay and some other sites...

Price is $17,000. Am I way off on the price or just not a desirable car? As it sits in the garage right now it has 63,157 miles on it. I hope to put a few more on it this week between work and painting the house.

Fired right up after sitting for over a month and took it around the neighborhood to knock off the spider webs.

I think that everything has devalued somewhat...unless you want to hold onto it and wait out the economy.

Good luck selling it!

There are a lot of cars just sitting out there. I had it on ebay and had 20-30 people watching the ad and no bids. I just posted it at $17,000, the lowest I would ever go. Its a lot of car for that kind of money.

I am building a 64 XL500 Convertible with the same engine. What headers did you use and did they require any mods?
thanks
