WTB 460 standard transmission flywheel

Looking for a good used or reasonably priced standard transmission flywheel for an neutral balanced 460.
I need one with a 176 tooth ring gear and a 12 inch clutch.
I have found a bolt on swing weightn from Quicktime bellhousings, so this makes finding a flywheel easier hopefully.

I bought a flywheel locally that was supposed to be correct and it ended up having 164 teeth? Have no idea what it is supposed to fit.
It has the extra wieght cast into the back side like it should, just wrong number of teeth.
Thanks

I havent purchased a bellhousing yet. I plan on installing a TKO 600 or a T-56. The aftermarket bellhousings say that they require a 184T flywheel.
What other options are there for installing a 5 or 6 speed behind the 460? Looks like aftermarket is the only option.

I will have to look at the back of the crank and see if it is drilled for an input shaft bushing. I am not sure.

The 77 flywheel is for an internally balanced motor. The clutch might or might not work for you depending on what you end up with for a flywheel.

Please let me know what you have when you get it out. I need the external balance flywheel. I have 10 days off work for Christmas break( thanks to the Ford plant's break) and I hope to get the engine/tranny all in and hooked up and the whole car finished so I can finally drive it out of the shop and have some fun with it. Thanks.

you have the stock auto. trans flywheel ? can take that and a zero balance wheel to a engine balance shop and match it to the imbalance

I had thought about that. I have found a new flywheel on ebay for @ $170 that has 184 teeth, correct balance but it only runs an 11 inch clutch. That may be the best I can come up with without spending $400-500. This motor is mild so I am thinking a good 11 inch clutch should be fine.
Thanks for the info.

I personally think a steel flywheel is a good idea on anything that gets spun more than 4K rpm. Cheap insurance against explosions especially since those ebay cheapy billets are $170 new. I was concerned about 11" diameter a while ago too, but a good cond. 11" should be plenty fine.

If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about answers.

I talked to Dave Meister about an almost new one off a boat engine. He thinks its a 184 tooth flywheel. Not sure about clutch size.
I found a new one on eBay for $162 if this doesnt work out.
I am leaning heavy towards a TKO 500 I found pretty cheap, and then purchasing one of those Quicktime bellhousings to put it all together. Still have to figure out the clutch, but I picked up a set of 87 TurboCoupe clutch/brake pedals. I am putting all of this into a 1993 Mustang. After some research I found the 87-88 Thunderbird TurboCoupes were the only Fox body that used a hydraulic clutch.
