Cranks are piling up again. Going to haul some for scrap soon if nobody wants them at these ridiculously low prices.

Pictures? It's a greasy old crank for $25.00, looks like any other greasy old crank. No rust, ready to be machined. I took a picture of some of them for you....there's a few 3Y's in there.

what exactly do you mean by "ready to be machined"? are you saying that they need to be turned to 10/10 or 20/20??
Thx, Eric

Yes. He is saying they need to be polished at a minimum depending on the unit or (most likely) turned and polished. At least that is how I would do it.

Hey Carl... Why $50 for the 2Y and less for the others? Sorry for asking but I don't know my stock cranks very well. I can however recite the spec's and prices for all cranks out of the Summit catalog! I was hoping you could take me to school if you feel like it.

I don't ever use a stock crank without grinding and polishing, that's why I say "ready to be machined". As stated, the cranks are in as-removed condition, and I make no guarantee of it's fitness to be dropped in with nothing more than a polish job. I will say that none of the cranks are rusted, scored, or damaged in any way that can be detected in a thirty second inspection.

2Y's are more valuable, because they're internally balanced, and most commonly used for offset ground strokers. Therefore, I doubled the price from nothing to nothing X two. These prices don't even cover my time to deal with them. Obviously I'm not making any money on this deal, I just hate to throw away good usable parts because I know a day will come when cheap offshore cranks and good usable cores will be all gone.

And in case somebody is concerned about the quality or strength of a 429/460 crank that's been turned .010, .020, or even .040......these cranks are routinely turned down .300 (to a 2.200 rod journal size) without issue at 700+HP. Some have been known to handle four figure HP. Some of these cranks may already be turned some amount, but I'm not going to send anything out that's already at .040 because .040 is the smallest commonly available bearing.

Thanks Carl. Most helpful. I'm getting smarter everyday!

This pricing was on surplus stock which has now been sold/scrapped. PM returned with current pricing.
