New Product ! Header Adaptors; Ford To Chevy; Pictures Up!

Hey Guys,

We've made some really nice one piece aluminum adaptors, that allow you to run a big block Chevy header on a Ford style exhaust port. They are one piece 6061 - T6 adaptors and bolt to any of the big block Ford iron heads, or aftermarket alu. heads such as the Edelbrock, A-429, SCJ, TFS Street heads and etc. Then you can bolt up any big block Chevy headers that you may have. They'll be ideal for boats, pulling trucks, and chassis style drag cars. They about 3/4" thick, so there's no guarantee about clearance in a unibody Ford car with the shock towers.

I sell them for $198 plus shipping.

Tubais,

Just for convenience. Say you bought a rear engined dragster and it had the usual BB Chevy engine. You sold the engine but kept the headers and switched it over to a big block Ford. By using the adaptors you can still run those BB Chevy headers and possibly save a little money because you didn't have to buy new headers.

Or you're building a pulling Ford pulling truck. Your buddy or cousin who ran a Chevy pulling truck, said he give you an old set of Chevy headers for free. By just using the adaptors you can use a BB Chevy header, which I think most of agree, are more commonly found than a set of Ford headers.

Thanks for asking,

Charlie Evans

That's good to know. I've never heard of any such adapters. May also help someone who had Blue Thunder heads (with Chevy exhaust flange), then aquired Ford exhaust flanged heads. Good product.

adapters

O.K. is it possible to make the adappters work both ways? Ford bolt pattern exhaust ports and chevy headers or chevy exhaust port and a460 headers? just wondering because if I get new heads it will have the chevy pattern for the ford headers

Ace,

The adaptors will only work one way. That's from a Ford exhaust port to a BB Chevy header. The reason is because we have counterbores in the alum. for the allen headed bolts to go into. They "seat" below the surface of the adaptor and then the Chevy header flange goes over the top of them. In essence, the Ford pattern is an UNTHREADED hole that the bolt goes through, and then the Chevy pattern is a threaded hole that a different set of bolts screw into.

Your question confuses me somewhat. The A-460 heads all have a Chevy bolt pattern. If you run an A-460 head in a Ford doorslammer car, then you'll have to remake or modify your traditional Ford headers. Get out the welder. If you have an A-460 head in a drag boat or tube chassis dragster, then just run Chevy headers. In those two cases there won't be any factory Ford unibody frame structure to deal with.

Hope this helps,

Charlie Evans
