Changing line size?

Hi all,
Just put 8 qts in the C6 haven't started it (new motor not started yet) but want to change line size from the 5/16 to 3/8. If I pull the return line well the fluid run out since it is overfilled in anticipation of start up.
Can I turn it over enough with the starter (no plugs) to move some of the fluid to the converter?
OH and What kind of fitting do I need for the tranny to go from the 5/16 to 3/8's ?
Thanks
Tim

https://www.460ford.com/forum/47-dri...-fittings.html

Read this. I got the correct fittings and some easy to work with aluminum tubing from Summit if you want to go that route. The fittings are inverted flare and require a decent flaring tool.
Unless you have a roller cam,I would advise not spinning the motor over till you start it. You want it to start instantly and keep running.
Don't forget, the fittings that screw into the trans are NOT pipe threads but national straight pipe threads that are sealed with an O ring or nylon washer.
