Are any of the bolt holes on a C6 servo cover open ended or are all 4 blind threads, have a bottom? I have a leak that appears to be coming from the lower rear bolt of the cover and I was wondering if the fluid is leaking thought the threads(?) If they are blind holes obliviously the cover or case is not flat so would doubling up the cover gasket work?
No all blind holes. Unless I guess someone has put a too long bolt in I guess could crack the back of the hole .. Trick would be remove that bolt see if oil pours out
Fresh rebuild and found the cover leaking enough to drip on the header. I suspect its the gasket as I had this same issue years ago with this trans. If I remember correctly I doubled up the thin gasket and it stopped the leak. Think I will try the permatex the right stuff. Thanks for the information.
