Replace 69 starter with late style starter?

I'm having problems with my still original starter in my 69 Thunderbird. Planning to replace/upgrade it with a late style starter from a 90s F350.
While the early starters had just 9 teeth, the late style starters have 10 teeth. Will it fit?
I was told, it should, but those answers seemed more like guessing than knowing so far.

I'm pretty sure here are some people, that have done that exact swap and can tell me whether it's a direct fit without any mods needed.

Thank you!

I use one on my 1970 vintage 460, my application used a fender mounted starter solenoid which required a simple wiring change, your may be a bit different. Be ready for a BIG improvement is starting. Good luck with your PMGR starter install

Yeah, it's a hybrid...It burns gas and tires.

No matter how good she looks somebody, somewhere is tired of her sh#t.
