Does anyone have pics of their engine diaper installed?

I'm curious to see the oil filter area and/or side mounts (if you run them). Is an oil filter relocation gonna be necessary?
Thanks,
Jeff

x2

Tulsa is making all 10.90 and faster cars run a diaper now. I tried installing mine tonight and got a hole bunch of frustration. I will deffinatly need a remote oil filter. Does the starter fit inside or out side the diaper.

Hey guys...

I don't have any pics handy, but the starter can be inside or outside, that is upto you! The oil filter doesn't HAVE to be coverd, but a relocation setup would be the best. Who are you getting your diapers from? The big trick is to have one made for your application, because they don't cost much more and it needs to fit your application.

DJ Safety is one of my sponsors as well as a company I do a lot of R&D with... If anyone needs some help, please feel free to call the shop and I will see what I can help you with!

This is the first time I have done one of these but there was not enough room between the starter and block for the diaper. If I would have know they made custom I would have done that but already spent money on this one from RCI. looks like a 15min oil change has turned into a 2 hour ordeal but its the new rule.

Has anyone ran these on a "street car" and has it caused any heating/cooling issues ?

Cale, I looked at DJ's site and didn't see a diaper listed for a BBF. I have a A460 block, Moroso 20625 pan, C6 and regular water pump. The pan is a double hump model made for a fox body mustang. I have a 69 stang with a mustang II front suspension and not a lot of clearance between the pan and cross member. Oil filter is on the block.
Any help ?

Oh....what kind of price ?

Thanks,
John

Just pm me the details

My home track is gonna require them on all cars faster then 10.99 also this year. I had not given it much though yet but being as I have seen oil filters blow out and I will be swapping over to engine plate I am think I will cut the frame mounts off and make a bracket that bolts to the driverside factory mounting boltholes and mount an oil-filter relocation kit with the oil-filter tucked up to the block and inside the blanket. I realize this may not work for some as my headers run on the outside of the frame.

John,
I can definately help you out on a diaper custom fit from DJ... They don't show everything the offer, and honestly diapers are rarely an off the shelf deal when you need a good fit!

They do however offer a basic 460 diaper that is made for one without engine plates... stock type. It will run about $235.00 plus shipping.

However for those of you who want a custom made one, where you can just get the measurements and have something that fits just right, then you would be looking at about $350 plus shipping.

Feel free to give me a call or email me if you guys want to talk about anything in depth!

John, I would honestly recommend a custom diaper, just because I think you will want that good fit. If you want to give me a ring, I can get some info on your stuff and see what would work best for you!

Lastly, do they offer you the choice of a "lower containment device"? Because many of you could build a type of belly pan if a diaper just won't fit....
