Bypass Setting

Trying to set the bypass on my BG 400 pump.....where should I set it? It's adjustable from like 15 to 25 or 30.... Changed the filter in the BG 500, set the pressure at the regulator at 8 psi. Engine still idles/ runs like ****. 563" motor, 2 775 custom carbs on tunnel, BG 4 port reg.....any guesses? Thanks,
Mike

On gas? I would say around 20psi. To the regulator. I just got a new Magnafuel 500 and it's factory set at 28psi.
