What brake lines to use?

OK guys.. Still workng on my 1993 notch back. Here is what I have so far for brakes.

1) Rear disk brake conversion kit (calipers are off some type of 70's GM vehicle)

2) Strange front disk brakes for the 93 notch

3) Skinny Kid racing off set Master cylinder kit for the 460 conversion in a foxbody.

1st Question: Do I need some type of proportioning valve in this system? Or can I just run the front outlet on the master cylinder to the front brakes and the rear outlet to the rear brakes?

2nd Question: What brake lines should I use? I was thinking about using braided flexible lines for ease of installation instead of the hard steel or stailess steel lines.

Your thoughts & experience on subject this will be most appreciated.

A lot of the rear disk convertions use GM metric calipers. From such as a 85 monte carlo. I always put a prop. valve in the line to back to prevent lockup due to weight transfer when stoping. And also use a line lock on the fronts. I dont know that all flexible line would be safe? Just flexible to the calipers themselves.

Is the line lock on the frontbrakes for the burnout box or does it serve another purpose? Or do I have something confused? ....it could happen.

Go to NAPA and get a 25 foot roll of Ni-Copp brake line. It'll be about 50 bucks if I recall.

It is sorta brown-colored stuff. You can bend it and shape it with your hands.

AWESOME stuff to work with. Easy to flare too.

Flex-hoses are only needed where you need some "flex" due to your car's suspension. I think if you use 100% braided line, you might end up with a really mushy brake pedal.

I put all new brake lines on my car last winter, plus a Hurst line-lock. Mity-Vac works great for getting all the air outa those new lines.

You need to run stainless hard line, and then flex line from a fitting close to the calipers.

I can get you a hook-up on parts too...

You have gone this far doing it all right... lets not let you cut any corners...

O.K.. I'll give you a call on Monday. I'm going to hate bending that stuff up. The rear brakes already have stainless flexible lines that runs into a T fitting. So all I'll have to do for those is run a hard line back to the T fitting. I don't have the flexible lines yet for the front. I'll give you a call Monday.

I was in a Brake Line outlet for brakes for my tandem truck and saw a rack of pre-made brake lines up to 8 feet long in about 4 inch increments. The long one was $7 and the shorter ones were about $3. These had the double flare and were wound with that protective wire spring. How could you go wrong at those prices?
