has anybody used this dominator?

Evening everybody, I have never even seen a pic of this style dominator before so here are the numbers that I can read:12R-5053B
6214
so far all I have found is that it is an 1150 dominator, no power valve and did not come with float bowls that would accept jet extensions(not a big deal-get new floats and go from there). this came with a set of old TFS Aheads and old style intake as well, want to put on a 532 or 557 build.

I know it's an 1150 and I would like to bring it back to life if it's going to perform, has anybody used this thing on an 800-900hp build and hows the tuneability

carb

yes I have, I had the 1050 version of it and it worked fine, my friends told me to get rid of that old dommy and get with the times and get a HP dommy so I spent 500.00 on a good used one, took it apart and put my tune up in it and it ran the same to the number, so if its good and there is no problems with it then use it!

Well I haven't had it apart yet but I'm sure just some elbow grease and a kit and it will be good to go. Thanks for the feedback!

wow

That belongs in my collection of old/nostalgic racing parts! Not saying it won't do the job for ya, only that I have never seen a Dom like that and I like things I have never seen before! LOL

I have a lot of carbs that will be getting posted within the next 2-3 weeks. 4 doms (2x 750cfm & 2x 1250cfm) and 2 1050 series (850cfm w/manifold ref ports) and a new 600/650.... cant remember, Holley ford replacement with electric choke and auto trans kick down, brand new but no box. Don't worry Butterbean...... won't make a move on them till we talk! LOL

I will keep an eye out for the add! Looking for something to run E85 with the vacuum reference for the fuel pump regulator. Already talked to Patrick at Pro Systems about a conversion. He says it can be done with this carb but more than likely I would have to go to a belt drive fuel pump to supply enough. Not enough material to port for the vacuum. I am probably a good 6-8 months from needing a carb so we will see what shows up here.
I'm just not sure about a belt drive pump in my mud truck yet
Thanks for the heads up on the sale!

belt drive

I just put injection on and several guys said with gas I "might" get away with pulling fuel from my trunk cell. I didn't want to chance it so I went with a small surge take supplied by electric pump and a belt drive pump. I'm still getting used to learning how to start and shut down properly.

I have run a lot of trucks, jeeps, rail buggies, etc..... And I don't know where you run but where I ran there were always trees, branches, whatever getting jammed everywhere. I would have been worried about something getting up in there and getting in the belt. But like I said, I don't know where you run.

I have a set of 850's that have the manifold reference port for blown engines. Is that the same reference port that you are talking about for the E85 stuff?

Auggie
