Blaster 2 question

Just orderd and received a Blaster 2 and I'm looking to R&R my old coil..

question is.. Do I need to run the RESISTER that came with the new Blaster 2??

my ignition is still original.. Box by firewall with the color coded tag.

Interceptor,if your duraspark box has the blue grommet ford had a resistor wire in the power supply to the box,in the unlikely event your car was originally equipped with the red grommet box it won't the red grommet box had circuitry to sense the needed voltage to the coil and controlled it accordingly. That being said the question of will the duraspark provide the correct voltage to the coil, probably but the most reliable answer would be from msd tech support since they were supposedly involved with duraspark development back in the day.
