Removing Ceiling Plastic??

In my 1993 Mustang I have some plastic that is on the ceiling that I want off of there. I have tried a wire wheel, scraping, a heat gun along with scraping and just pulling it off by hand. None of the efforts have worked so far. Is there some type of stripper that I can use or chemical solvent to get this stuff off? I hate this crap and want it gone!! Let me know your thoughts... Below is a picture of what I am talking about.

Dipping or Blasting

If your H.R. Is for racing you can dip it. or acid wash. The other is have a Baking Soda Blaster come in and blast it away. You will have to remove all of you interior etc.Whats the statis of the body, a roller, or a driver? If its a hull, dip it or blast it. The Pro Stock in the 70's dipped the body.

It isn't quite a roller yet but it is on its way. The interior is currently stripped out. Acid dipping would be way to expensive for me. Also when they did that back in the day they actually had some metal to work with. I'm afraid if you dipped this frail thing it would come out as thin as a beer can and would just fold up when I dropped the motor in.

While laying in bed last night I think I came up with a new plan on how to tackle this troublesome head liner residue. FIRE!! I'm going to get the plumbing torch out and see if I can burn it off. Or at least get it turned into enough carbon that the wire wheel will take it the rest of the way off. And no I won't sit directly under it when I do it. OUCH!!

I was thinking the same thing. I won't hold the flame on long in any one spot. I want to just burn it up enough so that I can get the rest off with a wire wheel or sanding pad. As of now neither of those two tools have worked. I'll keep you posted...
