RACE TIRES AMERICA

I bumbed in to these tires, RACE TIRES AMERICA and D.O.T. STREET TIRES. Do they compare to normal radial tire or are they something like MT ET Streets Radials or similar? They have nice profiles like 305/60-15 equals 29.3 x 12.6 - 15, would be nice tire for everyday driving if unless they are super soft.

Any experience from these tires?

NOTE: American Racer Tires are specifically designed and compounded for racing only. They are illegal for street or highway use.

Thanks Carl, that was exactly what I was afraid off. I have a set of MT Et Streets wide & tall, but finding a standard street tire wide&tall seems to be difficult, like 28x12-15 tire.

275/60R15 is about 28x11.50-15. Next closest would be 325/50R15 at 28x13.5-15, but only available as drag radials.

Yes, I am actually driving with Magnum 500's with 275/60-15 in rear, they are tall enough. I have MT Street Radials in size 295/55-15 that is about 28x12.5-15, I like those but as you said it's drag radial. 295/50-15 is nice but only about 27" but there are plenty of choice in that size.

Do you currently have the 295-55-15 tires mounted, and if so, on what size wheels?
Thanks
Tom

Tom, I had them on mounted on 15x9 Weld Prostars. Looked good, I switched them allready to 29.5x9-15 ET Drag slicks. I sold the 295/55-15 tires to a street race Valiant, they run it for the first time, grenaded the clutch with stock bellhousing, driver got 10 sticthes for his legs... Mayflower guys...

Basically you can drive a DOT tires in Europe, but I wouldn't like to explain for the cops about why I am driving bald tires. Yes, it is also very risky.

Power steering

I'm leaking in various places around my power steering pump, hoses and gear box. Should I replace the whole thing? How much would all that cost? Oh, it's a 75 Ranchero 500 with a 460.
