I am thinking about building a 460 for a stock pulling truck class. The rules state exhaust manifolds and cast iron intake. In order to be competitive I need to make more than 550 hp. Would this be possible with regular cast iron manifolds, not SCJ or PI parts? I have a set of DOVE heads as well as a set of D3VE-A2A heads. Which ones would be the best to use for this application?

With port work on the heads either will do so long as c/r is the same.
large valves etc.

Manifolds should be the older style with the large outlet and metal doughnut gasket. Newer truck manifolds will work too. Make the outlet as large as you can and still seal.

The answer is yes it can be done...
