I am looking for anyone that has a good set of used or reasonably priced new set of gears for a ford 73-79. I know the rear axle is a 9 inch, but unsure of the front axle. Could use help identifying as well. Let me know if anyone has some. This is for a 4x4 need to let my 460 open up a bit more.

Right now my valves are floating out at around 6k...i just want the option from high side to low side. Most of our pits are 200ft. If needed i can run the high side for speed pits and low for a true bog. Is there a way to identify the front axle to tell exactly what it is? I know for a fact the rear is the 9". Used would work for me just looking for a cheap route right now.

My experience is,,, 4:56 in low side (205-case) 35" cut bogger's at 200' it's on my shift light in 3rd at finish, chip at 6800. light set at 6500, have bumped chip a few times, now a 150' pit, it's a good set up, truck weight is 4200. room for 38's in low side. my bet is you have a dana 44 in front.

Yeah it is a good set up...I'm running 38.5 boggers now. Just can't get the tire spin I want with the tall gear that came factory. Just need to find someone that has a set for the front and rear.

If your still looking this late fall/winter, if i get my act together i'll have both, going to sand drags; 300' so i'll be setting mine up w/5???, stepping up to 35-spline, what i have now ;4:56 front and rear both spooled 31-spline 9" and d-44 front. both in ex-shape...later/Ed.

Not sure yet,,, when i get it set up i'll know, if i get a few (DEALS) it' will be less than you can buy new; I usely replace the hole housing's, the front is easer for me to set up that way. i have a complete set-up now but it's 4:10 w/spool d-44 300.00 hardly used, less axles. all richomd gears/spool/install kit.

So do you do bog pits now then?? Just curious as to what your running now... Alright well right now I have a chance to get a set of 4.56 gears for the rear at around 90 bucks...richmond 28 spline pinion. I think they said they are new...just have to see how that one plays out.

Not much to trade really...Just started racing this year so not to many extra parts this year. I do have an extra set of heads though...but they are the D3VE-A2A's...thats about all that I have for extras.
