Thanks Mark! The T-Bird belongs to a friend of mine, I just get the pleasure of driving and working on it. Maybe I can afford to buy it from him someday when he is ready to sell it.

Without the help of my brother we would have been done after friday. He stayed up till 3:30 am to fix the trans with us, and took the trans out of his car to get the high gear clutch pack we needed. Then he was back in the morning to help get it back together, and came to the track with me saturday and sunday

Mark Miller I also talked with Jack Brown with the 9 second Truck and his brother Curly Fries.

Later Mark.

FORD FANATIC Been a busy weekend for us so far. The first pass on friday morning the starter broke when I tried to refire the engine at the end of the track. Turned out to be a broken wire inside the starter for the solenoid. We took it apart and soldered it up and were back in bussiness.

We won first round and then in the second round the trans felt like it went into neutral about 100' before the finish line. The other guy broke out by .02 and we were in by .03. I thought the shifter went into nuetral or something. It shifted ok on the way back to the trailer. Third round when the trans shifted we had no high gear. Back at the trailer the fluid in the trans was FRIED.

We loaded up and went home. Took the trans out and two of the flex plate to crankshaft bolts had back out quite a bit. We took the trans apart and found the input shaft had a little wear mark on it. The bushing in the high gear drum was shot. One of the teflon sealing rings for the high gear clutch pack was half gone. And high gear was toast.

We think the loose bolts on the flex plate put the trans on a bind and caused the problem. We had to do some diggin to get a new clutch pack. We finished the trans around 3:30 and went to bed. Got up Sat morning and put it back in. Got to the track in time for the second time trial and everything worked great.

Lost in the second round...broke out by .02.

I met a few guys...i know curly fries was in the 4th round on sat and went red. Not sure how everyone else done. Been a little busy. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little less eventful

FORD FANATIC Just got home from the track. With the rain that we have had they decided not to use Linders Lot to stage us. They went ahead and done the credentials this morning and we parked on the blacktop on the rt 601 side of the track. We are parked just before the finish line scoreboards. See you all in the morning.

Have a safe trip to the track!!!!!!
