That's some tough luck Schmitty. Sorry to hear that it didn't go good for ya.
That is a weird failure in the rotor, never saw that before.
The first cut of alfalfa here was pathetic. Way lower yield than normal. Second cut came back a bit. The grain looks to be a few weeks off yet, normally they are combining now.

|schmitty||We're a little behind schedule here too Frank. We are usually starting on July 1 and are done in about 3-4 days. Only thing I've done right so far this year is I've gotten 2 cuttings of alfalfa done without rain. All but one load is gone to the dairies and the truck should be here any time to get that one. Guys not to far from me lost both 1st and 2nd cutting to rain after swathing it. Not very pretty to get off the field.|

Combining already??? we're at least 2-3weeks behind last year as to a very cold spring , don't figure on the barley until the 3rd week of Aug

Bad first race
Too many irons in the fire, and got ahead of myself. When I went to load the truck, I noticed a bad tranny cooler line leak. I figured I would have an hour or more after I got to the race to fix what I figured was just a loose fitting. After we got checked in and tech'd I started to work on the fitting and found the pipe thread hole was hogged out real bad, tried to teflon tape the heck out of it, but no dice. My brother went to a local parts store and got me a new adapter and we put it in and still no luck. Had plenty of help and asked a guy to fire up the truck so I could see how bad the leak was going to be. He flipped on the fuel pump and started talking to someone, I noticed gas coming out the headers. I grabbed my big ratchet to spin the motor a little and couldn't budge it. Found the #4 and #8 holes had filled with gas. Cleaned it out and didn't run the fuel pump unless the engine was running. Figured there was going to be enough time between runs to add trans fluid and just keep going. Time to hit the pit and everything was OK. Cleaned the motor out, and pulled to the line, put it in 4 hi and spooled the motor up against the converter. Light went green, hit the loud pedal hard, went to 6K in 40' hit second and it popped and died. Pulled it out of the pit and around to the staging area, tried to start it and it sounded like no ignition. Popped the distributor cap to make sure the rotor was spinning and this is what we found.
Both contact points gone from rotor.
Coil contact gone from cap.
Just wasn't my night. I just want to get done harvesting wheat and have a little time to get the little bugs out of the truck so I can go have some fun.
