  1. Sub frame connectors

    Car Buildup Forum
I build my fox body sub frame connectors out of 11ga 2x2" square tubing and use 11ga 2x3" outriggers. Only costs about $50 in material and way stronger than most over the counter units.

Wow it's been a long time since I've posted any updates. The car has been down for a long time. I blew the head gaskets again and damaged two pistons. It did not hurt the bores though. I ordered a set of JE flattops vs. having a custom piston made for the small chambers. I also spec'ed a new...

    Chilly's Garage
Finally got back into my account after being locked out when the website changed everybody's password and couldn't get the password reset to work to months. I didn't want to bother Cale while he was recovering.

I did not replace the top of the rad support with anything, I welded brackets onto the radiator tanks to bolt to the sides

Chris mine has adjustable upper and lower control arm brackets and the lower control arm brackets have been moved in 3" per side. It is still a stock style suspension legal housing. I have a ton of adjustment built into mine Team Z sells a similar housing.

Shifted at 7800 had Rev limiter set at 8000 (should have been higher I know).

5 passes, #3 piston hit the head and the top ring land was crushed down onto the ring on #3 and #5 . Both head gaskets were blown and the heads both had to be milled. Compression is going to be 14.7:1 with the flattops and I am going to run the car on C16 this year instead of C14.

I did but one of the domes hit the cylinder head and it blew the head gaskets. Even with the flattops and a 62cc head and a .040" Cometic head gasket it is still going to have a good amount of compression. I went with heavy nitrous pins to try to get the weight close on the pistons but they are...

Little side project Here is a little side project that I worked on yesterday also built with 100% scrap left over from previous projects. Only thing that will be purchased are casters. Been a few months since I have every touched my mig welder so I figured I would see if I still remembered how...

Here are some pics of the car in it's current stage whole car has been wetsanded with 1000 grit, waiting until next weekend when I can get a buffer and buffing compound to wetsand with 1500 right before buffing. I primed, painted and cleared the hood scoop yesterday. It's not perfect I had to...

New pistons, heavy nitrous pins and new rings. Getting new bearings Cometic head gaskets. Got a spare converter. Trying to lose a little weight, enclosing the inside of hood scoop and wetsanding and buffing the car. Had to put an overflow on the transmission. Hoping to be back testing by...

The reason I brought up a fuel injected shortblock is because somewhere around 1994 the pistons are at zero deck and will get you a decent compression ratio cheaply.

Find a good running fuelie 460 shortblock and get a set of C8, C9, DOVE heads and get cheap towing cam with headers and a cast iron Holley pattern intake. A recurved distributor and a MSD ignition box, a 3310 Holley and you are on your way.

If it were my car I would go 74/82 with the long yellow spring, you need to measure vacuum at idle to find the proper power valve size ( vacuum at idle/2= power valve size( example 9"vacuum at idle=4.5" or #45 power valve)) and I would go up to 14-16 initial timing. That's just based on my...

I think you will be able to hook the power up with the power glide honestly, imo you may want to send your housing into Team Z and have him put an adjustable upper control arm bracket on it. You may want to upgrade to a S4005 tire. Torque converter is going to be critical in your car. My...

I didn't know if you were planning on going with a better tire (not sure how good or bad the et streets are). Chris is your rearend a plain bolt in? I have tons of adjustment on mine but as you know I had it custom built to my specs. You may need to figure some way of getting some adjustment in...

Do you plan on hitting it with everything or are you going to use traction control? I don't recall how much adjustment you have on your rear suspension, but sure that will come into play on your first gear choice. Tire choice will come into play.
