  2. Wheres my Vaccum Leak . Crap Decision Time.

    Engine Tech

  3. Base Timing Help. Needed

    Engine Tech
You well need to acquire a timing light....TDC comes up twice to ONE rotation of the distributor. one time is compression (the one you want for timing) and one time for exhaust (the one you don't want). You haven't messed with the timing chain so just put the timing mark at TDC and drop in your...
  4. New Dizzy Installed and #1 postion

    Engine Tech
yes.. as long as the rotor lines up with the#1 wire it don't mater where it is at in the cap. As long as you did not rotate the motor while it was out. because TDC comes up twice on the crank to ONE turn of the distributor. it can be a pain to find the right one again. good luck tim

HI, remembering my D3'S looked like that with the exhaust emission bump removed they were quite small compaired to the header gaskets. See if you can get two fingers in the exhaust holes easily if so then they've been cleaned up but port looks stock for D2 or 3's. Valves look Same for D2 or 3's...

Hay.. What is the gear looking thing against the block behind the cam gear? I think the crank gear floats a little (in or out to line up the the cam gear)? just at first turn or to help aline . Cam gear would be dot out and cam pin in the hole. good luck tim

  16. Cranks w/o plugs, won't crank with plugs... help!

    Engine Tech
yes it just drops in the hole so it should pull right out but I under stand being stuck after years of no mess with. If you can rotate the distributor it shouldn't be stuck, if it is then something might be wrong inside. Now when you mark the rotor while in the block is fine but REMEMBER when...
  17. Cranks w/o plugs, won't crank with plugs... help!

    Engine Tech
Hi Yes pay attention to who the rotor turns as you pull the distributor. that way you well know where to put the rotor when reinstalling the distributor and to the oil pump.. I think it well move about a 1/2 inch so you well need to set it at that 1/2 inch so when it fully in the rotor well line...

    Engine Tech
HI My 3/8 dewalt turned my 545's oil pump fine New up to 40 psi. with no problem don't know about using the right angle adapter, it might cause to much drag to work with a 3/8 drill. Remember when pulling the dizzy be aware of where the rotor is pointing so it well be close to the proper...
