Hey guys. I have a Fox body with a big block and a c6 Trans with 4.10 gears and 29.5 tall tires. It runs a consistent [email protected] in the 1/8 mile but the tach says I'm spinning about 6000 through the traps. Wich makes me not want to run quarter mile. Does anybody else have this set up and about the same times as my car and knows for sure what the spinning for rpms and about what would my 1/4 mile time be? Thanks

to much RPM's not!!!

well 6.70 and 105 mph is a little off but your car must not 60' that well??? but don't worry about 6000 in the 1/8th because it will not RPM that much more, my old car ran 6.50's @ 104.50 at 6000 and it went 10.30's @ 129.70 @ 6800 so go for it and let us know how it does. BTW will it go to 7000?

The 60' time is 1.46-1.49. I have the time slips at home. I don't like spinning it more that 6000. It's just a stock crank with good rods. No transbreak. I still drive it to the icecream shop so I don't wanna get into doing a bunch of work to make it not reliable on the road still. I will spray it this year hopefully next weekend. I have a 150 shot on but haven't used it yet. I'll let you guys know how it does. I wanna drive it to the race track race it win and drive back home. Ha ha

A motor pass will be ok as butterbean said if your going to run from the dig on nitrous I might change the gear to a 3.90 and just see how she does.

But you could try it with what you have first. Just how she does

A BBF stock crank will hold up on the RPM and HP, the experts on this forum say it will take up to 1000 HP and over 7000 RPM so don't worry about the stock crank just make sure that the valve train will be good to 7000 RPM and you will not have any troubles, good luck and "Let her eat"

My ranger when I had the 460 and c6 with a 4.86 gear with 31x10.5 slicks the bottom end was stock as far as crank, rods and rod bolts I turned it 6500 it ran 6.70s and 10.88 in the 1/4 letting out right after it hit the rev limit at 6500. Still got the engine it made 538 HP by the calator in the truck. I don't think you will hurt it turning 6500 as long as was said the valve train is up to par.

The valve train will hold it but the cam is good to 6500. Im kind of thinking the tach is lying to me at the end. I think the motor is only spinning maybe 5500. Through the traps it feels like it's pulling hard still. And when I shifted it at 6500 you can feel the motor lay over. Im shifting at 5700. Now that I have a shif light I'll no more about what it does.
