hey guys, im looking at a 1971 429 engine that came out of a ltd, its a 4bbl engine and has to be rebuilt. is a 1971 429 still a good engine of choice such as the good compression heads, good block, rods, etc. were these the good 429s or should i look for a 1970 or earlier 429. thanks, jim.
A 71 429 is a fine starting point. Good block. Good heads. May need different pistons if you plan run pump gas. Can accept a 460/501/521/545 displacement rotating assembly just like any other 385 series.
