Hey yall,

I'm in need of some assistance. I've got a '97 F-250HD with the 460. I'm in need of a new intake. I snapped a bolt for the thermo housing and am unable to drill and tap it out. I'm struggling something fierce trying to find a replacement. Upgrading is also a viable option if need be.

Weld the box end of a cheap junk dollar store wrench to it.

Or rosette weld a nut to what's left. If nothing to weld to, a left-hand drill bit. Soak it well, and when you drill, 95% it will back-out before you drill through. If you drill and screw-up the threads, helicoil it. I also saw a different engine at a show, where the same thing was drilled out with a small hole saw, chunk of rod TIGged-in, drilled and tapped. He was so proud of it, he didn't clean it up or try to hide it.
