I have an 89 F350 DRW 5 speed I bought to tow my gmc off-road truck and it pulls BAD has no power and can only maintain 55 up a slight grade in 4th at wot. My 2018 1500 Dodge 5.7 pulls better. The PO had an exhaust put on but it is a 2 3" into 1 1.25" pipe and back into 2 2.25" pipes. I feel like that is a huge restriction and is killing power and torque.
With that being said, what upgrades other than headers and exhaust would you recommend?
Cam
Larger throttle body
upgraded pcm (if that is a thing)
better injectors
Other than the cam I really don't want to dig into the engine, this truck has 61,000 actual original miles and I don't want to get into it too deep.
I am not going to carb swap. I have no beef with carbs but want my EFI.

I'm no expert, but I found the towing capacity on my 96 is pretty lame, as well. In my case, I found a good bit of it is due to the tired transmission - that shouldn't be an issue for you. With only 61K you shouldn't be having issues and I'd be surprised if your exhaust choke point was the issue. Interested to see what others think.
