OK ... I've had enough PM's that I figure it might be beneficial to someone if I posted all this engine's particulars.

1 ) D1VE block; 4.470" finished bore size,
(sonic checked to confirm .140" minimum cylinder wall thickness).
2 ) 429 cast nodular crankshaft, offset ground to 3.742" stroke.
Externally balanced rear; internally balanced front.
3 ) 2.2 journals SCAT 6.800" H-Beam rods
4 ) SRP forged pistons, (502 B.B.Chevy flat-top #139511).
intake valve notch machined into piston for FRPP SCJ head
11.7/1 final compression ratio.
5 ) FRPP SCJ cylinder head; simply gasket matched and bowl ported.
2.200" intake valve diameter; 1.770" exhaust valve diameter.
6 ) LAZER solid lifter camshaft;
251°/257°@.050" - .380"/.376" lobe lift - 107° seperation; 101° intake
7 ) Crane "GOLD" rockers; 1.73/1 ratio.
8 ) Edelbrock 4150 VICTOR intake manifold.
Gasket matched and extensive plenum reworking w/2" adapter.
9 ) Dominator #8896 Holley carburetor.
Rejetted and air bleed changes but, otherwise "out of the box".
10) production front sump CJ oil pan with Canton windage tray.
11) headers were 2" primary, (uneven length), with 3" collectors
12) Magnaflow long body 3" straight through mufflers

peak torque, (629 lb./ft.), occured from 4,800 - 4,900 - 5,000 - 5,100 rpm.
peak horsepower, (703 HP), occured at 6,400 - 6,500 rpm.

torque at 3,000 rpm was 551 lb./ft.

This engine was from the 2003 EMC which had a 470 cubic inch limit and performed a whole lot better than I anticipated.
The 509 from 2005 was the engine which needed the new pistons and rings after running with no water till it physically slowed down at high idle as it was siezing-up.
