My thanks to Scott at RHP for the build.
Motor is a conservative torque street build setup for nitrous.
Peak torque 700lb and 697HP at 5900.
Days after dyno, we discovered many valves where the lash loosened out past 0.030" and the headers needed cleanup on most internal tube welds, likely keeping us from passing the 700hp mark.

This motor should push my 35" tired 79 short box F150 4x brick around with ease. :twisted:

Superflow 901 300rpm/sec
Maddog uncoated headers 2" primary 3.5" collector
3.5" Dynomax Utraflow's
1" HVH super sucker
28-30 degree timing
water temp 182F

Please view the video, comments appreciated. Note no fancy dyno tricks, doors are open, fan blowing away from the air cleaner, stock water pump pulley's.

I've updated the flow numbers with the engine build sheet from Scotty.

Pocket ported intake 2.25" , stock exhaust 1.76", 28" water, Bore fixture diameter 4.25, no tube on the exhaust.

Wow! That's a great engine. I used to have a '79 F150 4x4 shortbed before I switched to a '78 Bronco.

Ohh yeah and I hate you too :wink: I would love to have a engine that made that much torque at that low RPM. were you feeding it the nitrous on the dyno and if so how much? that's going to make Onefastford TRUCK.

Thanks, Your bronco is awesome! Since I've been lurking ~8months, I've always wondered what you can get for fuel mileage and if you tranny is lockup?

No nitrous or any tricks used on the dyno.
It should make a good hunting truck.... Diesels and chevy's that is. :twisted:
I ran 12.9 at 105mph with a 450hp 466 and 150hp shot of Nitrous. Still plan to use the 150hp nitrous on top of the new motor. I leave the line on the bottle helping motivate my brick of a truck.

Thanks, my Bronco is no longer a daily driven vehicle (it was for 5 years), so I don't know it's fuel mileage. But I can tell you that the EFI improved it greatly (especially with the ECM set at 15:1 air/fuel ratio @ cruise with increased ignition timing advance.)

My Lentech Strip Terminator AOD is not a lock-up torque converter type transmission. They can't be built as strong. Unfortunately, the overdrive didn't really help 'city mileage' that much. However, 'highway mileage' did increase, and the reduced RPM engine noise was also a great benefit.

That motor would love it in my truck. I could probably run in the 9s with that, on the bottle of course. Thats gonna be one fast 4x4 for sure! Keep us updated!

Is the reason your heads flowed considerably less than the heads Charlie E. and Jon Kaase flowed because of the small bore yours were flowed with? Thanks

The castings were just cleaned up on the intake side only. Mostly on the short turn radii. The numbers charlie is posting in the 400s have more work done than I did.

Given the application full on port work is not needed.

New motor is almost all in and ready to be fired. It's taking forever with holidays and my honeymoon. Not to mention header clearance and new radiator clearance issues.

Pat I finally got something to view.
