Hi Guys,

Hey I need help decoding a data plate. I can't find a relevent decoder on the net anywhere.

I can see that it's a 429 4V in a 69 Ltd 2dr Htp. AC PW PS P-seat etc
I can pick up this car for cheap. It does have title issues that I would have to resolve. 69K miles. But it has set for awhile.

VIN# 9J62N134500

Body 35A
Color S
Trim DAA
Production date 06
Month M
DSO 71
Axle 4
Trans D

Any help would be great!

Ok lets see here

9= 1969
J= Assembeled in Los Angeles
62= 2 Door Hardtop Formal
N= 429 4v
134500= Consecutive Unit Number

Your body code should be 65A instead of 35A.

S = Medium Gold Metallic
DA= Is either Black Cloth or Vinyl; or Black Knit and/or Vinyl.
M06= December 6th
71= Los Angeles
4= Open 2.80:1
D isn't an option for a transmission code only 1,5,6,W,U,Y,X,Z is.

Good Info

Thanks for the reply,

It is 65A, typo on my part. The trans letter is a U. Hard to make out in the light that was availiable.

Anyway I can pick up this car for $250.00. Still trying figure whether to part it or sell it whole as a project car.

The good:
suppose to run, will find out this weekend
69K
429 4V
all original stocker
good glass all around
very good body panels, no dents
good chrome for the most part
pw, ac, ps, pw-seat, rim blow steering wheel
black int.

The ugly:
lower qtr panel rust under paint
interior needs seat redo, headliner, dash etc
vinyl top is torn off with somewhat deep surface rust underneath

Any ideas on what this car might be worth?

Thanks
Steve

Well a U code is a XPL C6 which from what i can find out was used in police cars and cars that would be used to tow with, a heavy duty tranny I guess. Not sure what its worth, but for 250$ it would be hard to pass up.
