Hey guys,
I have a '91 F250 with a fuel injected 460. I am considering an engine rebuild, and would like to do some mild upgrades. Everything I've read leads me to believe that my stock heads are going to really limit my power potential, but there aren't any aftermarket heads out there that will allow me to stay with my fuel injection intake etc.

I am less concerned with peak horsepower and more interested in torque. This truck is for towing my boat, camper or horse trailer in the mountains. My plans are as follows. Any input is appreciated:

Port heads
Comp cam (what lift should I be looking for?)
Hedman mid-length headers and dual exhaust (2.25, 2.5 inches?)
I'm thinking the rebuild kit will bring me up to around 9.14:1 compression, but I don't know enough about my heads to be sure.

What else should I be looking to do? I would love to be in the 300 hp/500 lb/ft area with reliability. I had considered going big on the stroke (521/545 maybe) but what I've read leads me to believe I may be biting off more than I can chew reliability-wise.

Thanks for your expertise. This is my first big-block build.
