Just inherited a 97 f350 and while I was maintenancing the truck I notice the throttle body had a cut off hose with a piece of wood blocking it off but when I look at pictures of other trucks I don't see the same tube so I'm wondering what it is and where it's supposed to lead to, I don't see any other hoses blocked off so I'm unsure

Have never seen that, looks aftermarket. Does the truck have or had propane at one time?

Can't say that I have either.
That was one of my thoughts as well. Propane.

To the OP. Is the upper intake / Snake aluminum or iron?

Unsure, I'll have to check in the morning but as for if it's ran on propane before I don't think so? My dad owned it for the past 15 years but I haven't seen any other out of the ordinary parts that would point to holding tanks for propane. It's about as stock as stock gets besides that weird throttle body piece
