OK the course @ The Parker 300 was 5 miles long and it took 3min 14sec. to cover how fast was the jetboat going ?

My guess

I somehow came up with 92.80 miles per hour.Close?

The course must be short, I have never ran that fast in this boat in perfect water let alone chewed up by 50 boats and two turns. But it was fast and that was an official time for one of my laps. WOW ! I was only seeing around 80mph on gps and speedo.

92.8 mph is correct and it is the average mph, so around the turns you were probably going a little slower, which means that in the straight-aways you were probably going a little faster.

Distance = Rate X Time so, Rate = distance/time

5 miles/194 seconds X 3600 seconds/ 1 hour = 92.78 miles/hour

Well the guessdimated length of the course from info I recieved from other racers in 4.6 miles. With a best lap of 3.14 that puts me at about 85.36mph. Wow I am sure happy with these big Fords.
