Trying to find a spot for my aftermarket temperature probe/sensor.
I have a 86 460 and I can only see one potential port available, right to the left of the distributor.
Next option I'm considering is putting it in the heater core hose.
Is there any reason not to put a sensor in the heater core hose?
Seems like a better spot than the upper radiator hose.

It needs to be in the flow of the coolant to get an accurate reading, The advice to use the thermostat housing is good.

Can't use the thermostat housing it's packed full of vacuum hoses.
Wouldn't it be subject to the thermostat opening/closing as well?

I was under the impression that the heater core hoses are flowing all the time?
So the probe would be in the flow or so I'm led to believe..
I hope at least since I already bought the heater core T. But haven't done anything with it yet.
