Hey guys, just wanted to say hello. I've been lurking around here for a while, and recognize quite a few of you from fordmuscle. Anyway, I'm gonna be putting a early 460 into my 65 F100 pretty soon, and I'm sure I'll have some questions, kind of a newb on BBF's, always worked on windsors. I guess you could say I moved up a notch, now I'm on notch one, lol.

it's a matter of where the european swallow grips the coconut. Coconuts don't migrate. An African swallow could carry it, but then again, African swallows are not migratory. What is your favorite color? Blue?

What if the African swallow swallows the coconut, then what? lol

Welcome, I am new here also. I just dropped a 460/c6 into my 71 F100. Unfortunaly I am also pulling it back out today for a rebuild. Oil pressure problems.
You 65 ought to be a real handful with a 460 in it. lol
I have a bud with a 65 short step side with a mild 390 in it and that truck is fast! I can't imagine a 460 in it. lol Good luck and if I can help with the swap let me know.
Are you using a doner truck for the engine mounts and towers or L&L stuff.
I have done it both ways if I can help

I am planning on using the existing engine stands but with the swap mounts from transdapt, the mounts are only $88 from summit. I just got done restoring the truck a few months ago, it has a 351W/C4 in it now, then I came across this 460 and gave into the temptation.

That just sounds too close to what happened to me. lol
I did a back yard restoration on my 71 F100 about 5 years ago but I did just pull a 351w/c4 out when I ran accross the deal on this 40/c6 and gave in to the temptation.
I hope yous is better than mine though. I lost oil pressure on mine and it is no in the floor for a rebuild.Oh well. with the help from this board it will live again and will be a much stronger engine.
I pulled mine from a 76 F150 Supercab and got everything I needed to just drop it straight in.
The one thing I will mention that bit me a bit is this.
If your c/6 has the ribs running up the back of the bellhousing take a grinder and take them down about 1/2 inch.
Mine was rubbing the bottom of the cab floor. That is unless your truck came with an auto or 4 speed so that it has the taller tunnel.
I have a tall tunnel plate here if you want to go that route also

Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep an eye on the trans tunnel. I'm probably gonna remove the front clip of the truck to swap the engines. Everything is painted up too nice to risk scuffing it up, and the front clip is easy to remove when the bolts aren't all rusty. The engine I'm using is from a 71 MkIII, probably just put a better cam in it, stealth intake, 750 or 830 dp, and some headers. It should scoot along pretty good.
