My old ballancer was about 6.5 OD , I have seen a couple new ones one is 6.65 and the other is 6.8 OD The first one is closer to my orgianl but is The OD critical? These sholuld both work the same on an internallly ballanced motor ?? This Is the second time I posed this question . I know it is not a very glamerous topic ,but I sure would appreaciate some response. I am raedy to order the Balancer but I need a little advice . Thanks Rich

The Engine is standard stroke 466, With forged pistons, about 9.6 to 1 Compression, Ford Motorsport Solid roller cam , HP estimate is 500-550 HP , RPMs about 5800-6000 ,no more than 6200-6300. Nothing special beyond the roller cam and ported Dove C Heads.

I like a damper that is more or less stock dia. 7"ish if for no other reason the timing pointer is not 1/4" {or more} away from the O D of the damper .
At your RPM level and stroke...there is a lot of stuff that will get it done .....anything that is better than a brand new 1970 SCJ unit , IMO .

So The 6.8 SFI one that I like will probably do the trick?http://www.texasperfparts.com/store/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=205 The one a saw in 6.65" only came in chrome , My motor is cosmeticaly not a flashy deal, Very minimal chrome no polished aluminium ect ...Gloss black engine enamal and as cast Victor Intake and Edelbrock Alumnium waterpump.
