Hey All, I have a question.
When i bought "Ol'Blue the previous owner had replaced the original 6.9l diesel engine with a 1979 460.

Since i bought Ol'Blue i have ran into more then one "Half Assed" easy fixes.
It's a 1985 f250 T19 b&g 1345 4wd ttb front 70u rear 1979 460.

To my question.

Have always had some starter issues
with ol'blue and wounder if i need a spacer plate between the engine and the bellhousing?

Any information anyone can relay would be greatly appreciated.

Yes the thin plate locates the starter . Without it I've seen starters come loose and odd issues that the plate fixes

Block Plates/ Starter Locator Plates
Hi gregaust
That dose make sense. The transmission area was making many different noises.
Great link thank you for that too. Looks like the one offered at the very bottom of the page fits my application. The price won't brake the bank either. All i could find where a average of around $250uSd.
Thanks again take care

Update
I bought a engine plate for $90. There was a cheaper one for $50 from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard but when i contacted Jeff's tech department (who dosent offer tech via phone??) I sent there tech department and asked the thickness of the plate. The reply was . 12? I emailed them back and asked if that ment 12 gage or what. No reply. Jeff's bronco graveyard has piss poor customer service.
Got the plate installed and so far it works great.
