im scared !! i hear a lot about exhaust bolts breaking.

25 yrs ago i pulled ex manifolds off a 25 yr old 460 and added headers.
NOW 25 yrs later i want to pull ex manifolds off a 50 yr old 460. get it ?
im scared... the've been there a long time...

any good advice to avoid busted bolts?? i really dont think any oil will get in there..
dont have a real torch,

yeah, and ill kind 0f rattle them with low torq right and left to see if they loosen without too much power...
use my old air wrench...
well the score is tied 2 to 2. 2 out, 2 broke. i used kroil 3 days, lightly bumped with a hammer.
i set my air impact to barely click, soft.
went left/right "forever"
the end one on right rear and left front loosened, came out.
the one next to those gave up.
im really afraid to try any more...no headers ???

2 & 2... Ouch!

Kroil is great, but everything has it's limitations. Could be time for a valve job... machine shops removed my broken bolts, without charging extra.

It probably needs hardened exhaust seats, new exhaust valves, new springs, knurled guides, and better seals if there's any mileage on the engine. Plus... you'll have a fresh top end for the next 50 years.

thinking of drilling into manifold at the bolt and add juice into the threads direct...
are you under 40...?

so i drilled holes. felt drill break thru into void where space around bolt.im filling that space.
it takes a while as the juice fills he void and hopefully gets up in threads.
at one spot i tried drilling into the head but it must be lots harder than the manifold,i stopped.
im being totally patient on this,NO RUSH...
ill use my air impact turnd down till it just cliks hoping to jar them loose...
report back later...

i have a small hole in head to oil fhreads direct. oil goes down like it soaks into threaDS.
heat bolt till oil boils !!
i added 8 inch extensions to vice grips for more oomph, super tight grip.
no help. i cannot move the bolt, dont want to break it even with head...
what...could possibly hold it ??? spent hours. i push on grips and tap with 3 lb hammer.
bolt will not move...
