Hi new user here and looking for some solid advice on my flywheel options.
I am swapping out a c6 from my 86 f250 to a zf5.
The zf5 came out of a 1990 f350.
Will a 90 flywheel will work on my 86 460? the parts site shows these only working from 87 up.
So I'm not sure.
The parts site I'm looking at doesn't sell any DMF, so that leaves a solid. Huge deal or not?
Only read up a little on that debate and it seems the only issue is noise at idle?
The parts site only really lists one flywheel (sachs) for the zf5 specifically.
It's a 180 tooth, so would all 180 tooth flywheels work in my application?
I am not sure if they still were selling 4 speed manuals in the 90's and if it matters with the flywheel.
As for clutch's it's a toss up right now between sachs or the luks heavy duty 12" clutch.
Anyone use the m-pact clutch, they have 2 interesting ones, a ceramic and a multi friction one.

I have learned that DMF did not come on gassers so that takes care of my one question.
I read on another forum but it was only 1 post with nothing else to back it up; to just get the flywheel/clutch setup from whatever year the transmission came from.
In this case 1990. They claim it will bolt right up no problem.
My only concern with this is different part numbers between the years.
Which was the reason I posted here.
I will keep researching to see if there is a difference.
