i have a C6 from a 1978 Lincoln I’m refreshing. I would like to change the tail piece / output shaft to make it a better fit for my project a 1988 LX Foxbody. The change will improve the transmission mount and location over the Lincoln arrangement. My question, will the end piece / shaft C6 from behind a 351w Fit the Lincoln c6

Yes it will. Use the output shaft and extension housing , all swaps over

slowly learning this forum. Thanks for your help. I found a tail housing and now have to find the shaft. Is there anyway to identify the shaft from the housing. I measured the Housing from my c6 and the one I just got. I subtracted the difference of 3.75 from the longer shaft and came up wit a measurement of 23” for the new shaft. e- bay has several on their site at 23“ approx. any help would be appreciated.

Your measurements sound pretty right . I don't have one apart just now to give an exact measurement.

There is approx 4 " difference between the two , ext housings are around 13" and 17'
