Well after a long conversation with the BLP carb shop over in Orlando decided to re-work my old 850 into a bigger unit. The difference between reworking my unit and a new 4500 Dominator was only 20 HP. The dyno mule at their shop is equal HP to my build and that is what he based his numbers on. Still feel rate of acceleration would be better with the dom. Considering this boat spends a lot of time at 3500 to 4000 RPM just riding the 4150 is better suited and saved 600 bucks. BLP did all the air bleed and jet set up for my combo and I assembled it.
Thanks Lem, The heads and lots of small stuff was from you. She sure did open the eyes of a lot of brand X powered boats at the hot boat outing. Most were thinking could not be a lot of motor under that little carb. lol
Dave, it sure is snappy and clean down low. Blocks are super nice and crazy light.
Norm, Same bore just the lighting or lack of it. Cell phone pics.
Its a Borum built in Jacksonville Fl in the 60's and 70's. 78 was the end of Borum boat co. and my tub is a 77. Borum built boats from small family run abouts to 60 footers and some militart stuff. Unforgeven is unrestored but starting to get a few stress cracks in the deck from walking on it.
