I am cleaning up spots of chamber flash in a set of RPM heads and was wondering if there would be flow gains by laying back the 2 machined edges on the wall side of the exhaust valve?

In standard location BBF chambers the exhaust port works best when the chamber wall is tight to the valve. Eliminating sharp edges helps. Unshrouding to the gasket fire ring typically does not.

Blend the noted sharp edges into the chamber and roll the sharp edge at the deck / chamber wall.

The greatest gains in the eddy exhaust port are in the bowl and short turn from a flow perspective.

In high rpm and large displacement applications making the entire exhaust port larger is helpful even if the flow gains are not substantial.
