Hi guys,

I have an old Torker Intake from a 351C. It has a lot of "patina" on it to put it mildly!!

What is the acid to use to clean aluminum?

Thanks for the info!

One of them is hydroflouric acid(nasty stuff) wear rubber gloves and dont breath the fumes if possible. You can buy it(diluted version / safer) as eagle one mag wheel cleaner at your local parts store. Also dont let iti sit to long it will turn the intake a whiteish color.

Tape up all the openings and mating surfaces and go get it glass beaded. You won't be handling anything that will kill you and it will look beautiful when you get it back.

That sounds like a good idea. I think there is a place in town that does the glass beading too.

Thanks for the input.

i actrually used to keep a bottle of werks in my tool box at the boat dealership.
It works great getting all the corrosion out of the brass fittings in the cooling system.
Works great with aluminum foil and a pop bottle also. Thats a different story though.

Thats a good price!! I appreciate the offer:)

I might just get the T-Bird intake done too, its got some gas stains already.

The paint sounds like a quick fix tho....
