what does everyone run on their fox-chassis mustang cars?

i was hoping to be able to use a 3.5" cowl hood on my '95 coupe.

i will be running a victor intake with a dominator with motor plates and k-member spacers if needed.

has anyone gone with that small of a cowl?

thanks,
carl

i didnt run any kmember spacers and i have a 5 1/2 inch cowl. with a weiand stealth, Proform 850DP and a 3 inch air cleaner it just barely fits and i mean barely!! i wanted to run the 1 inch carb spacer but thats not an option unless i toss the aircleaner. i dont think a 3.5 cowl is gonna work with a victor and a dominator.

my 87 had a 5in. glastek cowl with a victor a 1in. spacer and a 850dp it was close to hitting. no k member spacers and it had an engine plate with the canton pan almost sitting on the rack,i think your 95 has a lower hood line than the foxbodies.

I'm running a 6" on my 84 with a Ford Racing Single Plane, 1" spacer and a 1050 and can't fit an air cleaner on it. and the MSD distributor just clears.

With K-member spacers your combo will clear a 3.5" cowl just fine.

Not sure what size cowl Michelle has, but here's a pic of her SN95 which uses stock location AJE K-member and Victor with 4150 and no air cleaner. Hooker headers with plenty of ground clerance. I built the custom engine mounts for it which put the pan right on the rack and rearward as far as possible. The SN95's have the firewall pushed farther back than the Fox cars, so that helps also.

Cowl hood

I was able to use a 2-1/2" Harwood on my Fox body. It has a Stealth intake, 1/2" N2O plate and modified air cleaner base. I added a 1" spacer between the k-member and frame rail and lowered the rack 1-1/2" so the motor could be lowered also. I like the sounds of being able to move it back in the SN95's. I was going to get my Victor's carb pad milled on a downhill angle like my Stealth but haven't got around to it. Lee

BBBob,

thanks for the picture. i did some searching and that is a 4" cowl. i still need to get the motor plates and bring the block and heads to school to be dipped so i can test fit everything before ordering a hood.

do you know if she had to make any modifications to the rear wheel housings to fit that size tire? ive got a pair of 28x10.5" M/T's on a 10" wheel so hopefully those fit pretty easily unlike my old fox.

thanks for everyone's help.
