hey guys after reading all your input last time i figured i was going a little overboard so this is what i came up with and i would be interested in any input you guys have to offer.

460 bored .060"
flat top pistons with valve reliefs. c/r 9.1-9.3
police interceptor heads with budget porting job and large exhaust valve from the mad porter
edelbrock performer rpm air gap intake manifold
holley street avenger 770 cfm carb
cam is where i am having difficulty comp cams 270h or 280h
270h is .519 lift 270 duration [email protected] intake and exhaust
280h is .530 lift 280 duration [email protected] intake and exhaust afraid i will have to run too big a stall on this one
truck will weigh 3800 lbs
c-6 auto tranny
diff ratio will be 3.55 or 3.73 posi nt sure yet
if i left anything out let me know. i am curious how much torque and hp ths would get and which cam or any other would work well in this setup. thanks for any input and remember this is my first 460 not my 100th but i have been studying hopefully ive learned something
almost forgot the block will b decked to match the piston heights
thanks for any input

I am at a loss as to why you are so "dead set" on running a "catalogue" camshaft which isn't even close to what is probably needed. If you insist upon a "catalogue" camshaft then go with the CompCams #31-226-4 Dual Energy.
EDIT: Everything else looks OK.
im not dead set on it just an idiot when it comes to picking out cams lol

If that's the case, give a call to either Randy or Lem Evans and let them pick a cam that will be best for your combo. Be prepared to answer a ton of questions like head flow numbers, intended use, and a bunch of other stuff. THey'll hook you up and make you happy in the process.
I noticed you listed heads from the mad porter.Scotty has custom ground cams and I'm sure he already knows what his heads flow.
Russ
i will definitely keep that in mind as i intend to send him the heads and distributoranyway. looking at getting the short block done this month. maybe next month i can send him the heads. thanks!
