the difference.........is atronomical!

I was reading in the 460 horsepower chart that alot of build are with d3v2 heads. On the 429 that I have there are d2ve heads. I have been told by people that these are no good and should use them as boat anchors. Why? What is the difference between these two types?
The difference is your d2ve heads are open chamber low compression dogs. The d3ve's on the other hand are like c8s, c9s, and dove heads in being they are a closed chamber design which offers way better compression. D3's are everywhere, and you can still find the earlier heads out there as well, I would seriously ditch those in favor of any of the above. 1972 was the only year ford went to the open chamber head. 1973 they went back to the closed chamber.........makes you wonder why huh?....
