Man that stinks. :(

Now find out what the cause was and get after them again.
You have a great looking classic.

Good luck.

I am running a 305H Comp. cam with hyd. lifters and the Mid-Lift 1.8 rockers. Why do You ask? Maybe you know why this happened? I am thinking a lifter is to blame? i found these parts down in the lifter valley.

Did you use the Comp Pro Magnum lifter? If so they recommend a mear .002-.004 preload. Much more and it can damage the lifter and or other things.

Here is a link to the special instructions: http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Instructions/Files/160.pdf

By the way you really should've put this in the Engine Tech section, you would likely have gotten more response.

I am only guessing here... but maybe it has something to do with using hyd. lifters instead of a solid lifter to set up your geometry and select your pushrod length? If you had different lifters not all pumped up equally when you selected your pushrod length, you may have had the preload off/different on several of them, especially if the engine had not run for a while. The numbers Brett has suggested doesn't give much room for error... I would double check that pushrod length.

Thanks for the color compliment, its a 1969 Plymouth color I think.

Mudbogtom: You coud be right, but as far as the lifters go I don't think they are the ones that Bret has in his post because my lifters are maybe 5 or 6 years old. I am thinking I will go with a new set of lifters.
Buuuut new lifters won't work on a old cam, will they? So if I have to go with a new cam. Should I go to solid lifters?

Do you guys think I should pull the head off to see if any damage could have happened in that cylinder?????

I had that happen once and it was the pushrods. I failed to measure them when doing my assembly and they were to short if I remember correctly. My lifter was alright so all I needed wsa a set of pushrods but it happened on vacation in the mountains pulling a trailer so it sucked butt none the less.
