Please forgive my ignorance here, but I’m a bit of a noob. I’m wanting to pull my engine and leave the transmission in for the time being. I’ve got all the linkages and whatnot disconnected and have the trans braced. Here’s where I’m stuck; is there really only 6 bolts that need to come out to disconnect the trans from the engine? I’ve attached a couple pictures of some bolts at the bottom of the trans, going into the bell housing; I’m 99% sure this plate isn’t connected to the engine, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks in advance!

There is a cover on the bottom there .Remove that and inside there is 4 torque converter nuts . They must be undone .
Then the bellhousing perimeter bolts removed and the lower plate bolts around the bottom in your picture .
By then it should separate . The torque converter stays in the trans
