I just installed a Ford 514 crate motor in my 69 Mustang.
I have searched this forum for a dyno, but found none. Does anybody have a link or a test to post?
Thanks

Thanks

I have searched popular hotroding, but i only found a dyno for a 460. Will try Hot rod. I have sendt a mail to John Kaase and frpp, but nothing.
In an article Kaase wrote about the scj heads he dynoed it to, as he says, a little over 700 horses. A bit more than Ford says, but id like to see the hard facts.

Thanks Mark.
This is where i supposed it would be.
I am planning to install a little more cam, but i'm afraid that
the streetabillity will suffer a bit!
Thanks again

Re 514 crate dyno

I found my issue of PHR Engine Masters summer 2007, were they dyno an older A429 headed crate engine and did a comparison between the heads and the SCJ heads then added a Comp XR292R cam . I wish I could scan it but my scanner isn't hooked up. But the outcome was 616 hp and 626 lb ft of torque from the crate with the A429 heads and Ford Racing cam. They then swapped to the Comp cam and it made 665 hp and 668 ft lbs , adding the SCJs upped the power to 700hp and 720 torque. Hope this helps

Here is the dyno test of the 514 crate engine that Bluemule talked about.
This artical is from Super Rod magazine 2002 but the same same one from the Engine Masters 2007 issue except in the '07 issue they also added nitrous for another hundred horses.I also have the August 2002 issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords with the same article. All from the same writer.

That sounds great.I bet it sounds 10 times better in person.
If that's what your 302 sounds like with open headers I just may do that with my '92 MUSTANG GT just for the hell of it.

A little update on the test drive!
The car works better than i hoped for, and is very streetable.
I can cruise on idle for a whole day, and race it for a whole night.
The torque is awsome. In 60 i can just smack the pedal, and it smokes the rears!
However, my gearbox didn't stand it, so i'm rebuilding it this winter.
Must also change the stock 429 oilpan to a deepsump with a tray!
If my wallet allows, i maybe test it on the track next summer to get a timeslip or two!
Here is a small vid. Poor quality, but the sound aint to bad!
