Anyone have direct experience (good or bad) with their solid cams and lifters? How about with any of their valvetrain parts?

I've used his roller lifters for about 10 years along with retainers. Guy here with a 468 Chevy has run a solid flat tappet for a couple of seasons & likes it. Dunno about the Ford cams

I can tell you from a conversation I had with one of the Herbert techs, all of the flat tappet cams are Mfgr'ed by Crane cams for Herbert, you pick from whats offered in Herberts catalog, the prices are very good if they have what your looking for, I inquired about a lobe sep change for a solid flat tappet, no dice.
The rollers on the other hand I believe they grind themselves, they mention a cnc Okuma-Howa cam grinder in their catalog.

In MHO they are chev oriented in their advice, have a low price and so so service. I would consider having them grind the numbers I sent them and then checking very close the grind when it arrived

Herbert stuff

I think there lifters are ok as long as you stay under .700 lift. Anything bigger and they will break. Been there done that. I use Crower lifters.

i have never ran one in a BBF but,i did run a chet herbert roller cam in a SBF 351. the springs, keepers, retainers, lifters, pushrods and cam all came from herbert,about every 6-9 months it would wipe out a roller and take out the cam,which is BAD,But i would call them and they would warranty it out every time. on cam # 4 they sent me a new cam and lifters and CHET himself got on the phone and told me ''TO NEVER CALL THEM AGAIN'' not that i was going to anyway, this was back in the early 90's so maybe they changed..maybe not.. good luck TRENT
