Hello all again,
Just wondering if anyone has had experience with running a dry sump on a 385. What sump was used ect. I hope to run a 3 stage Moroso pump, but where do I find a mounting bracket, also can anyone recommend a Alternator bracket that mounts the alternator low on the right hand side.
thankyou all
Simon

If you are running a Ford type alternator a stock 460 Ford truck alt. bracket should do the trick.I have two trucks so equiped and it puts the alternator at crank level on the right side.Would probably even work with the small import alt.with minor mods. I don't know about the oil pump but I would think one of the dry sump pump builders will offer a bracket for it.I know they have to exist, have seen many on cars and modified pulling trucks.

Simon,
I use a Stef's pan & the pump is hung off my front motor plate. Alt. mount is just two tangs welded to the chassis. Adjuster runs back up to motor plate.

what is your application, i have a 3 stage pump on a 533 ,i run a front engine plate, it is pretty easy to set up the alt. on. the drive for the pump will be harder to find ,i had one fabricated, it will depend on what ballancer, pulleys ,crank trigger etc you use.i am using a csi electric water pumpand i set up the alternator to run of the diff (using a mark williams nascar yoke with a v drive pulley )i only drive the pump off the crank. the pan will depend on your application (drag, oval ) moroso make both as does canton and peterson fluid systems have some nice gear as well ,they have mounting hardware as well.hope this helps harry
